Mitra Samal is a poet, writer, and former IT consultant currently residing in Bhubaneswar. Her short stories have been published in The Hooghly Review, Kitaab, Borderless, and The Bare Bones Book of Humour, among others. Her poems have appeared in Muse India, Madras Courier, The Punch Magazine, and more. One of her poems was shortlisted for the All India Poetry Contest by the Poetry Society (India).
