Photo series: Parallel Indias is about proximity without connection, a study of coexistence without recognition. These are images of adjacency, lives, symbols, and bodies, all occupying the same space, often within the same frame, without ever meeting.

A priest stands beside his god and looks elsewhere. A man sleeps beneath a shrine that cannot hold him. A woman walks under a fantasy she cannot enter. A child sits still while the world moves around her. A bird takes flight; a crowd passes; nothing connects. Forms align, almost completing one another, yet remain unseen by each other.

Nothing is hidden. Nothing is distant. Everything is already here.
The separation is perceptual, rather than spatial. What appears connected is not. What could meet does not. What exists side by side remains parallel.

And yet, within these frames, something else persists. Even if these worlds don’t coexist, they complete each other. The sleeping body and the painted deity form a single figure. Two lonelinesses stand within reach. The ancient and the present almost touch.
Almost. That distance so small, so absolute, is what this series records. Not as judgement, but as acknowledgement of everything that exists beside us, yet remains unseen.
