Born out of the political turmoil of our times, Musalman (Yoda Press, 2026) is a tale forged in fire and blood, blending satire and political commentary with a generous dose of humour, subverting every expectation you have from a caped crusader. Written by comedian, filmmaker, and journalist Falah Faisal, and illustrated by Spud, Musalman follows India’s first Muslim superhero as he discovers his reason for existence, battles hateful TV anchors, mythological villains, and prejudice—while landing more punchlines than punches.
Here is a short extract from the graphic novel, as Musalman’s notoriety goes primetime on Dictatorship TV.

Falah Faisal is a comedian, filmmaker and journalist, and the creative force behind Musalman and Falahdeen. Growing up on a steady diet of X-Men and Mad Magazine, he never imagined he’d one day create his own superhero series. Now, he lives the fantasy of being a comic book writer, pushing the boundaries of satire within the superhero genre. You can find him on Instagram: @gonzogram66.
The mysterious Artist Spud was the first artist to work on Musalman, that cemented the character’s look and design and was instrumental in helping create the series. He along with Falah Faisal created “Musalman Finds His Roots”, the origin story arc of Musalman, without whom Musalman wouldn’t be what he is today.
