Another Sunrise

Poetry: ‘Curtains fall from dawn to dusk. / A river to see her face. / Shining clouds bring flowers to her. / An admirer of nightingales and lanterns.’
Laundry done.
Fermentation of dough—done.
Curtains fall from dawn to dusk.
A river to see her face.
Shining clouds bring flowers to her.
An admirer of nightingales and lanterns.
She washes her face as a dream—
rubbing again and again.
Nails overgrown,
just like her sagging fat.
She sits next to a debonair garden—
a chat with birds
about the lost glory of her eyes.
She is a perfectionist,
rattling through her cabinets.
She talks about politics
to find home.
A reader like Plath.
Paintings of Monet
to resemble her curls and fat fingers.
By night, she is exhausted,
and wails across the staircase,
Lullabies to the trees.
Overwhelmed by sunrise.
