Poetry: ‘a man influences a knife, sways the auburn twigs. gentle and soft. // the heap of brunet lay aside, / besides a pair of eyes submit – in gratitude.’

- Kamakshi Lekshmanan

sandwiched verses

in an aching body where bones bite,

between the toaster / the sliced bread / nerves steer. bleeding to be voiced.

seedlings recurrently thrive – still hemorrhages,

conceiving a novice in solitary quiet. a lone

sparrow spark soft to the placid drizzle,

maybe is aware. the empty pages, throbbing to parade,

word by word

the allegories of the unheard

enduring the griller heat

fume chattery syllables. of

the wild lyrics.

on a warm day, by the café

the sky is painted in moods for a sunny day,

rushing into its blues - a cloud pack.

hearing a choppy clatter, I gaze out through the window,

in greys of harmony.

a man influences a knife, sways the auburn twigs. gentle and soft.

the heap of brunet lay aside,

besides a pair of eyes submit – in gratitude.

in a few moments. it rains.
