The Chakkar will occasionally feature special videos made for Mussoorie Writers with permission on our website. Here is a short film featuring Lillian Skinner Singh, who was once the oldest resident of Mussoorie, sharing personal and public lore from the hillside.

‘Sikander Hall if full of stories, historical lore, family anecdotes, legends of East and West.’

Here is a trip down nostalgia lane for hillside romantics. Lillian Skinner Singh, who was once the oldest resident of Mussoorie before her passing, shared stories of her unique family background, religious duality, Mussoorie's former nightclubs, and rumours of ghosts and hauntings in the Himalaya.

This film - shot in 2015 - was directed by Neela Venkatraman, produced by Mussoorie Writers, and funded by the Winterline Foundation.
