The Chakkar will occasionally feature special videos made for Mussoorie Writers with permission on our website. Here is ‘Book Bytes’, featuring Ganesh Saili reading from his 2012 book Gupp and Gossip from the Hills.

"Occasionally, our newlyweds on honeymoon provide a frisson of excitement to the town."

A traveller, photographer, teacher, and author of over two dozen books, Ganesh Saili wrote Gupp and Gossip from the Hills in an attempt to capture the fun, modern folk-tales of life from his Himalayan town of Mussoorie. In this short ‘Book Bytes’ clip, Saili reads a brief excerpt from the 2012 book, and discusses the drive that motivates him to keep writing.
