The Chakkar will occasionally feature special videos made for Mussoorie Writers with permission on our website. Here is ‘Book Bytes’, featuring Colleen and Hugh Gantzer reading from their 2011 travelogue The Alluring North, part of their Intriguing India series.

"We now know that India is not a melting pot as the U.S. is. It is a mosaic. ”

Ever-curious explorers and wife-and-husband co-writing team Colleeen and Hugh Gantzer wrote the four-part Intriguing India series between 2011-2013, before releasing all four copies about the four directions of the country in a bound volume in 2013. In this short ‘Book Bytes’ clip, the Gantzers read a brief excerpt from The Alluring North, discuss the allure of the Himalayan life, and describe the importance of asking ‘why’ in India: to open up doors, windows, and entire landscapes.
