Boulevard of Time

‘while he runs into the garden / and hears mellifluous melodies of life / singing to him’

- Ali Ashhar

Through the boulevard of time

life peeps into an era

when everything was vibrant

a kid nascent to life dances around

the courtyard whose steps know

no onus while he runs into the garden

and hears mellifluous melodies of life

singing to him

he comes across a vibrant display of flowers

making him fall in love with the emotions

he feels cozy sitting in the serene

shade of a tree which was planted

by his parents

with the passage of time the vibrant flowers

began to fade away, and the garden witnesses a storm

arriving black clouds hover over the tree

as soon as the child turns into man

the flowers wither

his parents are now too old

to water them.
